Silence

Some time has passed and still no answer form the Cam.
Neither approval of application nor rejection. Maybe I'm just
too impatient, but then.....hope it wasn't just any provider-based
spam-filter that blocked further mails without notifying me.

Here we go...

Just received my verification. This means at least, there's no problem with
living outside the Australia/New Zealand proximity.

Dear Applicant Wintermute

I hereby verify that your Perception Assessment NCI-2001/02 report has
been received.

Neurocam International’s Operations Division is currently reviewing your
report. Your performance will soon be assessed in accordance with our
selection criteria. This assessment will complete your application
process.

Once our review is complete you will be contacted and informed of the
status of your application. Please be aware that this may take between
seven to ten working days.

I assure you, however, that Neurocam will be in contact with you again.

Regards,

Charles Hastings
Head, Operations Division
Neurocam International

If only I knew, if there were other German operatives around. What I found out is, that there seems to be only one person mentioning Neurocam on a German website. But no blogs or further discussion in the German boards as it seems.

At the moment I'm thinking of starting a German blog beside this one. But as this would mean double work to keep an English blog and translating all the mails and a bunch of infos that are spread throughout the other blogs, as a summary ( there are a lot Germans not bothering reading English texts or involving in something, that's not available readily translated ) I have to decide on this somewhat longer.

For now just let's see, if they accept my report.

Task finished, now waiting again...

Just finished an sent my report along with the questionnaire.
Here's what I sent them:

NEUROCAM QUESTIONAIRE - NCI-1001/02

1. How did you hear about Neurocam?
I read about Neurocam on the net, to be exact, in
a thread at the unfiction-forums.

2. What are your expectations of Neurocam?
Nothing special for now, I'll just see, what becomes of it.

3. What is your lucky number?
23

4. Do you instinctively turn left or right?
Left, most of the time.

5. Complete this sentence - "Neurocam is."
And as it exists, it has to fulfill some purpose, whatever it was designed for in the beginning.

Report for 17.1.2005 - 4.00 P.M. to 9.00 P.M.

4.00 P.M.: Sitting at home, in front of my screen. Not one of my best days today. During weekend, I hoped, the worst part of this influenza was over, but as often, this proved wrong. Thinking about work this evening and tomorrow morning and how I will get through it. Nice to be wrapped up to your nose in the warmest clothes you'll find and standing behind a counter answering dumb questions of even dumber customers. I think I'll be not the friendliest of all shopkeepers tomorrow.

5.55 P.M.: Just tried my hands at some new Poser-Scene. Hope it will turn out usable this evening. Sometimes it can really make you mad, if the pre-made characters bend and twist on posing in the most unnatural ways you would ever see (even in some basic body-poses). Someone should explain their creators, what really means "anatomically correct". But for now, I'm confident, it won't take too much post-work to correct it.

6.00 P.M.: Off for today's work. Thank god, it's nothing very special, only simple tasks. I think I wouldn't be of much use today for anything other, so I'm kinda glad, that it's just the same routine as every time. Starting new auctions, fetching mails, sending payment infos and packing all the sold stuff. About an hour should be enough time for that.

7.30 P.M.: Returned from work. As I assumed, nothing besides the daily routine. Some easy extra-task with an SSL-Certificate and slight website-changes, but not overly strenuous.

8.00 P.M.: Just had a relaxing warm shower and some sandwiches, standard-food, if I'm too lazy for cooking. Now it's back to my Poser-work with some cigs and a tea at my side. For now, testing some renders with raytracing in low resolution (wish I had some rendering-cluster). Listening to Dead Can Dance and Carlos Peron to get some inspiration. I often listen to their songs while being kind of creative (well, sometimes Diamanda Galas, but the images mostly turn
out violent and disturbing, not in the mood for such artwork, today ).

9.00 P.M.: ...and still waiting for some really good thing to happen today. Doesn't seem as there will be. Maybe tomorrow...Working for another hour or so, then over to my bedroom, watching some TV (wonder, if CSI is still on on Mondays) and preparing for work tomorrow morning. At least, I'm somewhat content, what my work turned out until now.

Attached Photos:

worst: nice and colourful picture of a spreading influenza virus

best: basic part of my new render, not postworked yet.

Regards,
Wintermute

I think, all I can do now is wait again for a response, like everyone else...

Finally...

...opening the doors to my personal 'Villa Straylight' :)

As many others, as it seems, I signed up to Neurocam and now am waiting for the 17th to fulfill the first assignment. Kind of curious, what will follow and if it indeed will spread here in Germany too. For now, it seems, there's not much talk of it around here.

I won't give you another repetition of the first answer from Neurocam-staff, besides the date it's the same as all the others.

I'll keep you informed, if they operate in Germany as well ;)
